There are many treatment options for those addicted to drugs. At Good Landing Recovery Detox, we work with each addict to determine the best, most effective approach. When an addict walks through our doors, they have already taken the first step in the process – they have admitted they have a problem and need help. This is where you can become an active source of support for your loved ones, by providing them with information about Good Landing to help them see how addiction has affected their life and how drug rehab can help.

Patients will undergo a detoxification process once they give up their regular drug use. There is an immense amount of danger involved throughout the course of this process for those who have used drugs on a regular basis or used a large number of drugs recently. Some drugs can cause severe side effects during the detox process, such as seizures and fatal heart attacks. The safest option to mitigate health risks is for an addict to go through the detox process under the supervision of a medical professional. Once your loved one has fully detoxed, they can begin moving forward in their drug rehabilitation and on their path to sobriety.

While our drug rehab program is personalized, the recovery process does include at least one form of therapy. Most patients will sit with a counselor to discuss their addiction, its causes, and their progress in sobriety. These therapy sessions generally continue on a weekly or bi-weekly basis after leaving Good Landing. Some recovering addicts continue seeing a therapist for years.

Good Landing Recovery Detox offers two other forms of therapy – group therapy and family therapy. Participants in group therapy learn they are not alone. By learning to lean on each other, addicts in recovery develop social bonds that can extend into a lifelong support system. Where individual therapy is designed to provide your loved one with the tools needed to stay sober, group therapy is designed to give them the support of others who deeply understand addiction and how it affects someone.
Family therapy is useful for our patients with addiction rooted in family matters. This safe space allows recovering addicts to sit with their family members to discuss past experiences that led to addiction. Even those with addictions not tied to a family can benefit from this type of therapy. It teaches family members how to help and support them in their recovery.
